Math Benchmark on May 18

By mms6

To help prepare for our math sol on May 25, students will be taking their 4th benchmark covering all material on May 18th.  It will not be as long as the real SOL but I want them to see how they would do as we work through our theme park review.

Science SOL May 30 and 31

By mms6

EVEN day students will have their local science SOL on May 30th and May 31st for ODD.  Students received a study guide this past week to help them review.  This is a week after the state SOLs.

Edible Atoms Project Coming Up

By mms6

On April 16th and 17th, we will be doing our edible atom project…we will need students to bring in a large plain sugar cookie.  We also need donations of tubs of icing, bags of skittles and m&m’s, chocolate chips, red hots, and other things to decorate our cookies like atoms.  There will be much more information about this project once Spring Break is over, but any donations are extremely helpful to make this project a success.

Also, if parents could send in another large cookie so that other students who can not bring them in can have one, that would be great.

Math SOL Testing Date…

By mms6

is tentatively set for May 28th.  Things could change between now and then but this is what I’m planning on for now.

We need them for a lab on compounds.

Science Test Date Set

By mms6

The science test for our solar system will be March 5 for EVEN and March 6 for ODD.  Students will receive a study guide next week to help prepare for the test.

Need icing and plain sugar cookies for week of 2/20

By mms6

If you have any icing or extra sugar cookies lying around or can get some at the grocery store, myself and the students would be much appreciative as we are doing a moon phases activity where we need both items.  Thanks

Switcheroo for math 7

By mms6

For those math 7 parents who keep up with what we are studying, I am going to go over mean, median, mode and range with the students on Monday of this week, and then review and test on probability, sequences and averages on Wednesday.  This is different from the math 7 blue print that some of you use.  I want to save functions and graphing functions for the following week.
