March is Reading Month at PKVES

February 14, 2010

In March everyone at Peak View will Read for Real!  Our focus will be on biographies and nonfiction for all grade levels and also on historical fiction for grades 3-5.   We are eager to welcome Ms. Ginjer Clarke on Wednesday, March 24 and Ms. Carolyn Reeder on Tuesday, March 23 to speak with our students in the library.   Ms. Clarke graduated from JMU and is the author of over 14 nonfiction books on animals.  Ms. Reeder is the author of numerous historical fiction titles.  Many of her books take place in Virginia and are set during the Civil War era.  Ms. Clarke will present to the younger grades and Ms. Reeder to the upper grades.

Monday, Feb . 22 an order form will go home with students to purchase books by these authors.  If you wish to, you may order one or more books by Clarke or Reeder and they will autograph them.   Books will be given out to students the day after the author visits.
