* Next week is campaign week for the SCA. The posters look great. The Campaign Speech Assembly will be Thursday at 10:00. Third and Fourth grades will be invited to the assembly.
* We have 2 SCA spirit days coming up! Friday, April 27 is GREEN DAY in honor of our Arbor Day Celebration. Monday, April 30 is TWIN DAY!
The article in today’s, April 20, Daily News Record is incorrect regarding the last day of school. Rockingham Public Schools will remain in session through June 7. The last day of school has not been changed!

As you are aware, PVES was awarded the Harrisonburg – Rockingham County Arbor Day Community Gift. We plan on building a new outdoor reading area for the children of PVES. As construction begins, it is important for all of us to give an input to naming our reading area. Please consider submitting 2 names that would be appropriate for this area. On this week’s PVES post there is a place to write your suggested names. Please return the bottom portion of the post to your child’s teacher by Monday, April 23.
Next week, April 16-20, is Grandparents Week in the cafeteria. Grandparents are invited to eat lunch with their grandchildren. Please RSVP to the invitation that was sent home or call 434-4557 to let us know how many are coming and which day you plan to attend. This will help us prepare enough food for everyone. We hope you can come eat with us!
We hope everyone had an enjoyable Spring Break. We are very appreciative for an extra day. School is back on Tuesday, April 10. We will see you then!
Thursday, March 15 is our Spring Program for PreK-2nd grades and 4th & 5th grade pinnacle. We hope you are planning to attend! If your child is performing in the program, please have them at school by 6:30 so they can be prepared for the 7:00 performance! The program will be performed twice on Thursday. There will School Performance at 2:00 and a Family Night Performance at 7:00. We hope to see you there!
All parents are invited to attend the PTA meeting tonight, March 6 at 6:30. Gerald Lehman, Director of Food Services, will speak about the school meal program, and address any questions or concerns you may have. Everyone is welcome!
