Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Gene Knicely from Mt. Crawford Ruritans for their kind donation of a dictionary for each third grade student. The students were excited to use their dictionary. We would like to thank Mt. Crawford Ruritans for supporting us again this year!
We are pleased to announce that Pleasant Valley has earned the 2014 Title I Distinguished School Award! It is an honor to receive this recognition! The staff will be celebrating this accomplishment by going to Traditions Restaurant for a late lunch buffet on January 17th.
Our annual National Geographic Geography Bee was held on Jan. 8. All participants did an exceptional job! Congratulations Andrew Stine, our winner!
The first Thursday of the month, Nov. 7, plan on eating at CiCi’s Pizza! PVES will get a percent of receipts turned in that night. Proceeds will benefit our Special Projects!
Parents, November 5 is Parent/Teacher Conference day. Conferences will be scheduled between 12-7. Invitation letters will be sent home. If you would like to schedule a conference, please fill out and return the invitation letter. You will receive notification from the teacher as to what time the conference will be held.

What a successful first day we had! Everyone looked refreshed and ready to start the new school year! We are off to a fantastic start!
A reminder that tomorrow, August 20th, is the first day of school for Kindergarten through Fifth grades.
The first day of school for PreK is Thursday, August 22nd.
Parents please remember that the instructional day for PVES is from 8:25-3:05. If you are transporting your child, we ask that you have your child in his/her classroom by 8:20 and not pick up your child before 3:05 unless he/she has an appointment. Every part of the instructional day is very important!
Vital information is often given the first minutes and the last minutes of the day!
