Title I Distinguished School
This year the state of Virginia only recognized 46 Title I schools for high achievement. Pleasant Valley was one of those schools! We are honored to be recognized as a Title I Distinguished School. We received this honor for meeting all state and federal accountability requirements and for achieving average reading and mathematics SOL scores at 60th percentile or higher. The award is based on student achievement on state assessments during the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 school years. Thank you for supporting our school!
We would also like to congratulate South River Elementary for being recognized as a Title I Highly Distinguished School!
Coke Rewards
The Coke Rewards Contest runs Jan. 3rd – 18th. Students can bring in soda bottle caps with codes, or cut codes from soda boxes. Codes can be found on coke, diet coke, sprite, barqs rootbeer, dasani water, powerade, seagrams gingerale, as well as many other drinks. The codes will allow the SCA to redeem supplies for our school. The class that brings in the most codes will win a Rootbeer Float party! For more information go to www.mycokerewards.com. Lunch Money
Parents, when sending in lunch money, please be sure to write your student’s name on the envelope or baggie. This helps to know whose account the money goes in or who to return the money to if it get’s misplaced. Thanks!
