About the SVTC

The Shenandoah Valley Technology Consortium has been an established organization for over ten years.  Our mission is to provide school divisions and universities with information and training.  We also provide an opportunity for networking among computer professionals and opportunities to be advocates for the staff and students in the Shenandoah Valley and Piedmont areas.

The SVTC strives to …
•    assist members in the use of instructional technology;
•    facilitate and encourage the cooperative planning and sharing of resources, programs, problems, and solutions;
•    facilitate the cost-effective use of resources;
•    develop and conduct quality training programs;
•    promote regional and cooperative ventures in interactive instruction; and
•    introduce new and emerging technologies.

In the past, we have sponsored technology integration training workshops, seminars on web content filtering, web page contests for schools, technology training for school administrators, and a SMART users conference.  Our monthly meetings have included visits to our member schools, presentations by commercial web page development corporations, and presentations and troubleshooting sessions by computer representatives.

Annual school division membership to the consortium is $100.  The membership will allow each school division a vote and a reduced rate for future consortium activities for staff.
