A “Knight” of Talent!

Hey students and staff…(friends and family are also welcome to participate!) WE WANT YOU! ….for a talent show sponsored by the Music Boosters to be held in the auditorium on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 @ 7:00 p.m. Talents or acts including (but not limited to): vocalists, instrumentalists, bands, dancers, magicians, martial arts, monologues, display of artist’s works….Auditions will be held on Monday, September 9th and Tuesday, September 10th at 3:30. JV Volleyball Team Wins – 8/28/13

Congratulations to the JV volleyball team for their 2 game thumping of East Rock last night. The girls played awesome in the 1st match of the season and set the tone for the next 19 matches. Thanks to ALL the crazy Caped Crusaders who came out to cheer us on last night. We greatly appreciate you all being there and it was by far one of the best outings. You never cease to amaze us.

Yearbooks Have Arrived

The 2013 yearbooks have arrived! Books will be given out from the yearbook room according to your last name starting on Thursday morning of this week. Books will be given out before school (starting at 7:45), at break, during all three lunches, and afterschool until 3:00 on both Thursday and Friday. Books will not be given out during class time. Books will also not be delivered to you. If you ordered a book, please be sure to pick it up. There are a limited number of extra books ordered which will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. If you didn’t order a book, and you would like one, please see Mrs. Simmons or Mrs. Garrett in the front office to purchase one. Extra books are $80.

Armed Services Academies Nominations

Seniors:

if you are planning to apply to the U.S. Military, Naval, Air Force or Merchant Marine Academies, you will need a nomination from one of the two Virginia U. S. Senators. Applications are due to the senators in early September. Please see Mrs. McCoy in the counseling center for more information.

One Act Play Auditions – 8/22/13

AUDITIONS for the VHSL one act play team, will be next Thursday and Friday, August 29 & 30. Auditions for actors and interviews for technicians, for the play “BIG LOVE” will be held in the auditorium. Please sign up for an audition/interview time on the board outside room 124 and be sure to get audition instructions. Please see Ms. Deason if you have any questions!

Schedule Change Requests

Schedule change requests will be taken starting Thursday, August 22. Students must check the master schedule (posted in the front hall) to see if classes are offered in periods that fit their schedule. You must be dropping a current class and adding a new one. We will not accept requests to re-arrange current classes to other periods.

Attention College Bound Seniors! The registration deadline for the October 5th SAT is September 6th! This administration of the SAT test may be your last opportunity before your college applications are due. Any college-bound seniors who have not yet taken the SAT should also plan on the October administration, even if their desired colleges have spring deadlines. The SAT is a requirement for most traditional four-year colleges. Please register by September 5 on www.collegeboard.org.
