Welcome to the Wilbur S. Pence Middle School Library!
This site is for you, the student, the parent, the teacher, to use at school, home or anywhere you have Internet access.You will find information about how we do things, our policies, at WSPMS library. Â Sometimes you’ll need the library on the weekends or evenings when
it’s closed and I hope that is when this site will be especially helpful to you. Â The goal is for this site to be easy to navigate and for it to contain all of the resources you may want or need to be a successful learner/teacher now and into your future. Please contact me if you have ideas for additional resources or suggestions for this site.

Library Information
- Your Librarians are Ms. J. Butler and Mrs. S. Pollard.
- Hours: 8:00 a.m – 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Circulation period is 2 weeks.
- Up to 3 books may be checked out at a time.
- Books may be renewed 1 time so, you may have a book for a total of 4 weeks, if needed.
- Overdue books will need to be returned before you may check out another book. We do have an “On Your Honor” book rack that you may borrow from until you return your overdue books.
- Our library is a great place to BE, READ, STUDY, RESEARCH, SHARE, ENJOY!

New books are ordered throughout the year as requested by our faculty and students. We subscribe to Junior Library Guild and receive nine levels/genres of books each month. Be the first to check out the latest book in your favorite series! If you would like to suggest a new book for our collection please respond below and include the title and the author and a short summary of the book.
Annual Events in the library:
September – April: Virginia Readers’ Choice Awards program, voting in April
October: Teen Read Week, Fall Book Fair Fundraiser (also open on Dayton’s Autumn Day, Oct. 1st)
February: Winter Book Fair Fundraiser-tentative (Scholastic!), open for Curriculum Night and, Reading Month
April:Â National School Library Month; Virginia Readers’ Choice Voting/Celebration; BOGO Book Fair to stock up for summer reading – April 30-May 4th.
June: High Point Earner Awards for the AR program. Top three for each grade level and Top earner for all students. FREE book for each student who has returned all books to the library:)

I LOVE creepy books and the school has some good ones! And I can easily find the books I want!!!!!!!!

hey i think our library is great its full of cool books and i look forward to reading all of our great Virgina Readers!!
The book “Ways To Live For Ever” by Sally Nicholls is a great book and I recommend this book to all readers.
It is about a kid who wants to answer all the questions nobody answers like how do you know your dead,or are ghost real.Read the book to find out more.

it has all these books to choose from and with different genres. it’s a great resource for studying people or just a subject of some sort.
i’ve already read 2,044pgs this nine weeks too! it wasn’t too hard to find great books to read!

i really appreciate all of the book fairs we do because people can get the latest stuff, even if I don’t always get something. there’re so many different types and stories to get into.

theres a book that is ‘in’ our library and every now and then I check if its there but it never is. i wish whoever took it would return t so it would actually be available.

Reminder: just because something is popular, doesn’t mean it is the only good book in the library. Open yourself up to new titles and you shall be amazed. Remember to read over extended spring break.

Well, you’re right, we have lots of others including Chicken Soup for the Pet lover’s soul….I will take your recommendation though and try to find it for the future.

I am an eighth grader, I love this library! Everyone in the library is so nice! I am saddened to leave this year!!
But to upcoming 7th and 8th graders, check out the library I promise it’s worth it!!
